How to apply for Canadian jobs in New Brunswick and RNIP programs

New Brunswick is one of the 10 provinces of Canada and lies in the eastern part of Canada in Atlantic region. It has a population of 7.8 lakhs inhabitants and this province is playing a significant role in Canadian immigration system by offering various employment opportunities and settlement support to new immigrants who wants to make New Brunswick their new home.

There are currently five streams under which New Brunswick is offering Provincial Nomination. The details are as follows:

1) New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream: It requires you to have an offer of employment from a New Brunswick Employer or you should have already been working in New Brunswick, you score a minimum of 60 points in the selection factors and score at least CLB 4 in English or French.

2) New Brunswick Express Entry Stream: It requires you to have a direct connection to New Brunswick or attended a New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) information session in the past two years, have an ECA of at least a secondary education, score at lesast CLB 7 in English or French, have one year of work experience in TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3, have enough funds as per family size, and you should score at least 67 points on the points grid. Applicants and their accompanying family members must sign a commitment to live in New Brunswick prior to being nominated.

3) Strategic Initiative: This stream is for Francophone applicants who have strong linguistic ability and settlement funds. In addition to this, this stream requires either an exploratory visit to the province, a job/job offer with a New Brunswick employer, or a direct invitation to submit one’s application.

4) Atlantic Immigration Program: In this stream, a designated employer can hire you through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). Read more about AIP on Our Services page of our website.

5) New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot: This stream is for international graduates who studied in New Brunswick from select one-year and two-year programs of study that leads to careers in priority occupations in Education and Social Development, in Health, in IT and Cyber Security, in Business Administration, and in Supply Chain and Logistics.

New Brunswick is the only province of Canada that conducts virtual interviews and job interview events at various places in the world to select international candidates who aspires to work and settle in New Brunswick. Currently there are 36 NOCs which is are in demand in New Brunswick and hence if your occupation is one among those 36, you can apply for the job in New Brunswick which will ultimately lead you to a Canadian visa to live and work in New Brunswick.

Once you register an account on NB portal, you will have 14 days to complete the application.  It is a 10 step application process where you need to upload your ECA, IELTS report, resume and you can also upload spouse documents. There will be a video recording that you have to upload as part of this application.

Please describe your relevant documented experience for the NOC that you have selected. When possible, please provide examples. The following talking points are not mandatory, but can be used to guide your answer:

  • Introduce yourself
  • Explain why you have joined the profession
  • How long have you been working in this profession
  • Have you worked in public or private sectors
  • Have you worked in the this profession in other countries
  • Your motivation to practice your profession and develop a career in New Brunswick

New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot Project:

This pilot was introduced on 7/November/2022. In this program, there are six employers of New Brunswick who can offer a job to an international applicant. The following six employers are the recruiters for this pilot. What you have to do is to apply for the job on the employers ‘Careers’ portal and complete the interview if they respond to you.

RNIP programs

RNIP stands for Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. Read more about RNIP on Our Services page of our website.

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) is a new community-driven immigration program. It is designed to spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities by creating a path to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to work and live in Rural and Northern Communities. Basically, you need a job offer from the employer of any of these participating communities. These job offers are LMIA exempted but requires a Community Recommendation Certificate.

The RNIP allows eligible employers to make full time permanent job offers to skilled foreign workers who can help fill identified labour shortages in their community.

Applicants for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program must meet two sets of criteria. First, all applicants are required to meet the requirements established by Canada’s federal immigration authorities. Second, applicants must adhere to the additional requirements set by the participating communities.
